Local Attractions

You’ll find a variety of local attractions to enjoy during your stay with us. Weston-super-Mare is home to the world’s largest collection of helicopters at the helicopter museum. You can also pay a visit to the SeaQuarium aquarium, minature steam railway or take a boat trip on the Paddle Steamer Waverley and MV Balmoral to various destinations along the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary. We are also just 40 mins drive from the spectacular Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge.

Weston-super-Mare has a number of arts venues. The Playhouse serves both tourists and the local population. The Winter Gardens on the seafront hosts shows, exhibitions and conferences and The Blakehay Theatre & Community Arts Centre is a small venue housed in a former Baptist church. You can also spend time visiting the North Somerset Museum in the center of Weston which tells the story of the local disctrict from pre-history to the present.

If you fancy a more active break then the nearby Mendip Hills are ideal. The hills are bounded by the Somerset Levels which also offer excellent walking opportunities in the south and west and along the River Avon and Chew Valley Lake in the north. Much of the Mendips are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and are home to a number of limestone features, including caves (Wookey Hole), and a number of gorges, most famously Cheddar Gorge and Burrington Combe.
